Solid Stool

1954 | METROCS | Riki Watanabe

Designed in 1954 as a chair to be placed in the entrance hall of a house designed by Kiyoshi Seike, it has been commercialized after half a century. The structure is reminiscent of the prototype of Riki Watanabe's masterpiece, the "Torii Stool," which reinterpreted the traditional material of rattan in modern design. The combination of the warmth of the solid wood seat and the linear steel legs creates a neat look.
