江戸櫃 七寸

Edo chest, 21cm

1794 | Okeei | Eifu Kawamata

Fukagawa is a place where woodwork, such as fingerwork, has been handed down since the Edo period. The exhibit, "Edo-hitsu 7-Sun", is made of straw, taga, and other components of the tub using traditional techniques to the highest quality, and conveys a message to the user. Mr. Eifu Kawamata's approach to manufacturing, the high quality of the finished product, and his passion for traditional Japanese craftsmanship are impressive.
