There are many origami-inspired lighting designs, but this is the origin. 70 years ago, in 1943, the Danish architect Tae Klint designed this.
It is made of paper and flame-retardant plastic. The simple and beautiful pleats are the life of the product, and a technique called "brim" has been devised to hold them in place.
